ORGANISATIONS & CAMPAIGNSVisuals that Matter
Visual design and illustration for non profit organisations and public institutions working in education, social services and health care services.
This is work where visuals carry real weight — communicating with people in complex or vulnerable situations, representing the values of institutions, making difficult topics approachable. I've worked in this space extensively, and it's where the combination of design skill and genuine client-centredness matters most.
Tukinainen
Visual identity and illustrations
These illustrations needed to carry two things at once: the weight of difficult experiences, and the possibility of something better. Created for an organisation supporting survivors of sexual violence, the brief called for visuals that feel safe and empowering without being naive. The result is a series of warm, textured illustrations used across Tukinainen's brand — website, social media, and communications materials.
I also refreshed the visual identity of Tukinainen creating a diverse color palette and choosing a typography that is both interesting, trustworthy but also fresh and bold.
IntO project
Visual Identity and illustrations
Brand identity and illustration system for a multi-organisation development project working at the intersection of child welfare and youth psychiatric services. The logo uses handwritten typography to emphasise the human connection at the heart of the work. Illustrations were created to depict collaboration between professionals and clients — showing complexity with clarity and warmth.
PETU project
Illustrations and layout design
Illustration for a practical work tool designed to be used in family social services — directly with children and adolescents. The visual needed to be warm and inviting enough to work as a conversation-starter between a professional and a young person in a challenging situation.
I also created illustrations for the final report of PETU project examining family work in Finland. The brief called for visuals that communicate the human side of institutional research — making findings accessible to a broader audience beyond academia.
Both the work tool and illustrations of the final report were part of PETU project that was produced in collaboration between Pesäpuu ry, the University of Jyväskylä and JAMK.
Uskalla nähdä (“dare to look”) campaign
Illustrations
Illustrations for a campaign coordinated by THL Barnahus project, the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters, and the Central Union of Child Welfare. The campaign’s aim was to raise awareness of children who’ve been both verbally and physically abused. The brief called for an identity that feels approachable and brings the child into focus — visible, not abstract.
Lapsen oikeudet
Illustrations and product design
I’ve designed several visuals for the Child’s rights communications network coordinated by the Central Union of Child Welfare. The aim of the visuals are to make children's rights tangible and celebratory — not abstract or institutional. Illustrations, posters, stickers and postcards, all created to reach schools and daycare centres across Finland during child rights week. Visual materials that needed to feel joyful enough for children, while carrying a clear message for adults.
Näkökulmia sijaishuoltoon
Illustrations and layout design
Illustrations and layout design for a professional workbook used in foster care settings. The visuals needed to depict the full range of situations foster care workers navigate — from difficult conversations to moments of growth — with honesty and warmth. The workbook is designed to be as a practical tool and the different assignments to be filled out.
